October Progress Report Devlog


Hello Monster Girl Lovers!

We're here with a little devlog for October, mostly focusing on what we've been working on so far.  We've been hard at work getting the underlying gameplay systems of the game up and running as a basic prototype so we can really nail down the gameplay before we begin to implement the meat of the content.

Our vision is to have a roguelike style dungeon which provides different twists and turns every time you play, each room containing an event, encounter or even a mysterious merchant. In a similar fashion to the node systems in other roguelikes, you'll travel through the dungeon but won't be able to backtrack, based on where you go, you may end up facing powerful enemies. However in Monster Girl Descent this is all done in a first person 3D dungeon diving experience.


Who knows what you'll find!


Gameplay is based on card based deckbuilding. These cards represent the skills, abilities and magic available to your character. There will be a few different classes available to players which provide differing playstyles depending on the cards that are available to them.

Cards can be found, dropped by enemies and bought from strange merchants you may encounter down in the dungeon.

As well as positive cards, you'll also end up reluctantly collecting cards which have negative effects, such cards represent injuries, illnesses and more. You'll need to find the right person or right place in order to get these removed from your deck. Perhaps if you are lucky, you can burn some of them at a special campfire.


But what is a game about Monster Girls without great Monster Girl Designs?

We've been hard at work with our artists getting designs for the Monster Queen's army drawn up for the game. We're delighted with the results so far and can't wait to see what they make for us next. We're hoping to provide a wide variety of Monster Girl bosses for the initial release, these Monster Girls will be found defending the gate to the next floor at the end of every floor of the dungeon. Their goal is to stop you from reaching the throne room and defeating their queen!
