Monster Girl Descent - Early Access Version Now Released!

It is finally here!

We've been quietly working away on this new project for quite some time now. We had an amazing response to the demo we released, which enabled us to make tweaks, fixes and changes based on the feedback of our players.

We can now proudly say...

The first Early Access version of Monster Girl Descent is now released!

State of the Game:

The game is  still unfinished and does not fully represent our vision for the final version, however we are confident it is in a great state for players to enjoy. In terms of features, we have implemented most of the features we wanted the game to have. The main thing we need to do is to add plenty more content!

Being in early access will allow us to do this as well as getting valuable feedback from you all!

Such is the way with early access games, If you want to play a longer, more fleshed out and polished game, it might be worth waiting for more major updates to be released before taking the plunge. Please keep an eye open for updates in the meantime, we'll be so happy if you follow us along this journey.

There should at least be a few hours of gameplay for players if we consider runs with every class, upgrading the town and collecting all the current monster girl scenes. These things will be expanded upon over time, especially more monster girls!

As it is a roguelike/roguelite in style, we've tried our best to make every run feel a bit different, whether it is the random maps or random events, even the items and cards you discover. We have hundreds at the moment, but as development continues we'll be adding hundreds more!

Most importantly, More monster girls and their saucy scenes are coming very soon!

We've been very eager to get something playable into the hands of those that have been eagerly anticipating the game and supporting us to get to this point. We appreciate all of your support and wanted to prove that we are making something that is worthy of supporting.

We hope this will serve as an example of what more is to come when we eventually reach our 1.0 vision of this game and our Monster Girl universe!

We anticipate the game will be in early access for up to a year as long as we don't experience any delays or crazy life events. One thing is for certain, the game will not be abandoned. The development will continue until we believe the game is done, and if the demand is still there, updates after 1.0.

Things will very likely be quite different later on in the development of the game, things will be reworked, redone and tweaked. Most importantly, things will be much more fleshed out, content rich and polished!

This version of the game currently includes the following features:

  • 5 Different Monster Girl Boss Encounters
  • H-Scenes featuring 10 Monster Girls
  • Card based Combat with many builds and abilities
  • 3D First Person Cave delving action!
  • A randomly generated cave with many secrets that changes every run
  • Upgrade your town to unlock more features and permanent upgrades for your next run into the dungeon!
  • Maybe some pesky bugs waiting to strike (please let us know if you find any!)

Coming in the first content update will be:

  • More Monster Girls
  • More Unique Attacks For Each Monster Girl
  • More Cave Rooms and Biomes
  • More Artifacts
  • More Cards
  • More Available Town Upgrades
  • Rewrites for old scenes

The first content update will  be coming in two to three weeks time.

Ending Note:

Being the second game for our little studio, we've made sure to use the things we've learned whilst developing Monster Girl Invasion RPG as we craft another Monster Girl Adventure. It has been so fun bringing another world to life for our players and Monster Girl lovers around he world.

We hope this will serve as a decent taster for you to look forward to what comes next for the game, plenty more content, more cards and some wonderfully sexy monster girls are on their way!

Any constructive feedback is welcomed, please reach out to us via your preferred channel, be it via the steam forums, discord or simply sending us a private message or email.

We'll try our best to take all valid feedback into consideration when adjusting and creating the rest of the game.

Thank you again and we hope you enjoy our game,

Kind Regards,

MGGEDev

Hey, hoping you can help me with this game. I've just started, and am getting a consistent CTD upon losing any combat. I've tried looking through the Debug log, and found this to be the only error it gives after a crash:
[0420/174933.469:ERROR:http_transport_win.cc(178)] WinHttpCrackUrl: The operation completed successfully. (0x0)

I'm not sure what it means or how to fix it.

Hello!

I'm really sorry to hear you're having crashes.

One other player had a similar problem and he told us this:

i‘ve got an update for you and found the solution:
even if i do not use the microsoft edge browser: i cleared all cookies/ temporary files from it (deleted the complete history from edge).
and its working now.
maybe something inside this folder disturbed the game? (im media designer, no programmer, sry i cant give further details)
but it seems to be working.

If you have edge on your system maybe you could see if this fixes it?

I know it sounds like a really weird solution but perhaps it is something to do with the way the game implements nw.js.

I also have a hunch it could be related to our steam implementation, if you have it, could you also try running the game with steam open in the background and see if it still crashes?

We'll continue to investigate a solution on our side too.

Please let us know if either of these solutions work.

Kind regards,

Thank you for reaching out.

I have tried clearing out the microsoft edge cache both in browser, and by deleting the contents of the Appdata/Local/Microsoft/Edge/User Data folder.
I also have steam open in the background.

Sadly, no luck. I've tried googling it, but haven't found a solution yet. I did see your post on the rpgmaker forum, so I'm happy to see you are looking into it.

Thanks so much for reporting back, it sounds like a very rare issue :(

I'll keep investigating to find a fix. Just out of curiosity, we changed the way the steam is implemented in version 0.1c, does it still crash on that version?

Kind regards,

I had not realized a new update had been released. It does indeed appear to correct the issue. Thank you very much!

That's great news!

Thank you so much for letting us know! :)
